Adventurous Spirits Wari Chora and Krem Chympe

9 Days 8 Nights

Krem Chympe is India’s 5th longest cave located in Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. It is situated at a walking distance of about 3 km approximately north along the track from the village of Khaddum to Sielkan.

It is a magnificent river cave which would require over 3.5 km of swimming over a series of very large and deep lakes, formed by the existence of more than 50 natural dams or gours, 6 to 8 m high. The cave has a very large colony of bats and possibly cave-adapted fish.

With 10.5 km of surveyed length, the cave has several leads yet to be explored. Sielkan Pouk which is at the upper reaches, acts as a sink to the cave system. There are large number of caves in Jaintia, Khasi Hills and Garo Hills districts in Meghalaya, and are amongst the longest caves in the world. Of the ten longest and deepest caves in India

Wari Chora is a relatively unexplored and hidden place in Meghalaya. Located in the deep jungles of the Garo Hills, Wari Chora is nothing short of a paradise.

Wari Chora is the land of the Seven Giant Serpents. Wari is a Garo word that translates to deep water while Chora refers to long. It is a place surrounded by canyons and the tranquil turquoise water of river Rongdik passes through it.

The Rongdik River flows from Wari Chora to Jawai Wari through Aginma Wari and then to Emangre joining the Simsang River in Siju and eventually entering Bangladesh.
